Progressing with assignment

Well I’m at work, i’ve managed to catch up with everything here so it’s given me some time to firstly complete the most recent blogging task and also work on the second assignment. So far I think the assignment is going along nicely but I was wondering if the code for exercise 9b (sending information from the web page to the XML file) is going to be posted on ilearn. Other than that I’ve got to create the ASP files so hopefully like last time we get time during class to work on the assignment as I don’t get much time away from uni to work on my assignment.

Blogging Task 9

Google Docs

- Able to upload word documents, OpenOffice, RTF, HTML or text or you can create documents from scratch

- Supports word documents, spreadsheets, presentations and PDF’s. word documents can up to 500K plus 2MB per embedded image, spreadsheets can up to 256 columns, 200,000 cells or 40 sheets whichever is first, presentations can be up to 10MB files from the web can be upt to 2MB and emailed files can be up to 500K. It can also store up to 10MB per PDF from your computer.

- Has a combined limit of 5000 documents and presentations and 5000 images.

- all documents can be created without the need to save them to your local hard drive.

- documents can be accessed form any computer and all documents can be shared with whoever you choose.

Office Live Workspace

- Saves 1000+ microsoft documents and can be accessed from almost any computer even if office isn’t installed.

- Can synchronize with Microsoft Outlook such as tasks and events.

- Can be shared with anyone you choose – you just require their email address.

- Has up to 500MB of storage, individual documents can be as large as 25MB.

- You can share with up to 100 people.

When it comes to choosing between Office Live and Google docs, I would choose Office Live becasue it supports all office documents which are common programs used today. 500MB is more than enough for me if I was to upload files onto Office Live and that each document can up to 25MB allows for a bit of flexabiltiy.
